Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)

After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her … but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead … quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Omg this review is like so so so overdue! This was my second read in January and here I am writing this literally right now. I have been so lazy lately, work have been draining my energy, but I am so happy that I’m on top of my readings and I’m glad that I make sure I always have time to read books.

Anyways, I was a little unsure if I was going to like Throne of Glass. From all the reviews I’ve read, you either love or hate this series. So I was just like fck it I’ll read it and see how it goes… Well I really really enjoyed it.

At first I was like yep this book is between 3 – 4, after half way through the book I started to really enjoy it a lot more. The storyline is amazing. Not once I was bored at all, the entire book was very interesting, I really loved it A LOT!

I really loved Ceaena’s attitude, she’s literally gives 0 fcks about anything! but of course she’s is also strong, funny, intelligent, and very sweet and kind hearted person, which makes me love her even more. JUST EVERYTHING ABOUT HER IS AMAZING!

Overall, I really recommend this book to anyone, especially to people out there that enjoys reading ya fantasy books. I definitely be reading the next book… Well I’m actually reading at the moment, I’m enjoying it so far.

Have you guys read this book?

  1. WHoohooo I just finished reading and reviewing this book! And its never too late to jump into the Throne of Glass series haha I am so glad you enjoyed it. I will admit I was a bit worried going into it with all the hype and passionate fandom behind it and I am happy to say it did not disappoint!!! And yes! Celaena is such a different character from anyone I read in YA! It just made the book so much more fun to read cause you sometimes don’t know what to expect from her lol Have you read the other books yet or the ACOTAR series? Great review btw!
